Brian Lynch Goes From Vampires To Zombies in Everybody’s Dead

23 mars 2008 Non Par Comic Box

everybodydead.jpg[ENGLISH] Acclaimed writer Brian Lynch’s new zombie comic, Everybody’s Dead, will hit comics shops this month from IDW Publishing (www.idwpublishing.com). With a successful career as a screenwriter and best-selling comics like Angel: After the Fall already under way, Lynch now focuses his attention on the zombie genre, offering a story of college kids who survive an overnight apocalypse that was originally written as a screenplay over a decade ago.

The story, which is drawn by critically acclaimed artist Dave Crosland of Scarface: Scarred for Life, tells of ten friends who have an unusual college life. For most, it’s a time to focus on making new friends, falling in love and maybe hitting the books. This group (who are best summed up in the book’s tagline: « They’re the last people on Earth who should be the last people on Earth ») discovers that they are the only survivors of an apocalypse. Now they must fend off legions of the undead and restart civilization in their own image.

The story, which Lynch first wrote as a screenplay more than a decade ago, combines elements of romance, horror and comedy and includes moments of heartbreak, monsters and laughs. About the first issue, Ain’t It Cool News said « Writer Brian Lynch seems to be writing from experience here (not about the zombies and death cult fraternities, but from college life) and in just a few pages he has me caring about this crew of survivors. Looks to be a fun ride. »

Everybody’s Dead #1 (item code JAN08 3695) will be in comics shops on March 26. For more information on the series, check it out here: http://www.myspace.com/everybodysdeadcomic.
