Robert Downey, Jr. In Talks To Star In Platinum Studio’s Cowboys & Aliens

[ENGLISH] Platinum Studios, Inc. (OTCBB:PDOS), an entertainment company that controls an international library of more than 5,600 comic book characters which it adapts, produces and licenses for all forms of media, has been cited in the entertainment industry publication, The Hollywood Reporter, which announced that Robert Downey Jr. is in negotiations to star in the Platinum Studios property, « Cowboys & Aliens » which is being co-produced by DreamWorks and Universal Pictures. The film could serve as a potential 2010 tentpole. Monday, June 16th’s issue of The Hollywood Reporter, in an article penned by Jay A. Fernandez and Borys Kit, states that the deal would be Robert Downey Jr.’s first since propelling Marvel Studios’ « Iron Man » to $550 million-plus in worldwide box office.

Academy Award(R) winners Brian Grazer and Ron Howard will produce for Imagine Entertainment. Platinum Studios’ Chairman and CEO, Scott Mitchell Rosenberg will also produce as will DreamWorks partner Steven Spielberg and producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Ervin Rustemagic and Rich Marincic of Platinum Studios will co-produce.
