All Hughie wants is some time to himself, to return to the bosom of family and friends, and get his head together after two years of unimaginable chaos. But our hero’s luck has always been more cloud than silver lining, and the familiar surroundings he craves are not all they might be. You can go home again- but with old pals warped beyond recognition and strangers in town up to no good, whether or not you should is another matter entirely.<\/p>\n

The Boys is set in a contemporary world very much similar to the real one, with one notable exception: a number of people have some form of superpower. The series follows a superpowered CIA squad, known informally as \u00ab\u00a0The Boys\u00a0\u00bb, whose job it is to keep watch on superheroes and, if necessary, intimidate or kill them.\u00a0 Enjoy this tale of Hughie with The Boys: Highland Laddie #1 coming to stores this August!<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Highland Laddie sees everyone’s favorite Scotsman in his own series, with art by Herogasm’s John McCrea,\u00a0\u00bb says writer Garth Ennis.\u00a0 \u00ab\u00a0All Hughie wants is a break, and thinks the perfect place to get one is back home- in Auchterladle, the little Scottish seaside town where he grew up. But friends and family have their own ways of wearing a man down, and with certain mysterious strangers in town, Hughie’s already fragile psyche is in for another battering.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0I’m incredibly excited for the story that Garth and John will tell on wee Hughie.\u00a0 This is going to be a more personal story, and we get to see the toll that Hughie’s gone through since the day his beloved was killed in front of him.\u00a0 Garth has made it a point to ensure that each story is solid, and we’re very fortunate to have John (McCrea) back on art, with Darick providing covers.\u00a0 This is a dream team, and the tale of one of our favorite \u00ab\u00a0boys\u00a0\u00bb.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n
