Hack/Slash Nominated For Spike TV Scream Award

[ENGLISH] Devil’s Due tells us: Chicago, IL. (September 12, 2008) ¨C Spike TV has announced that Hack/Slash, the acclaimed independent comic book horror series created by Tim Seeley and published by Devil’s Due Publishing, has been nominated in the category of « Best Comic Book » for the 2008 Scream Awards. Hack/Slash joins a list of nominees now up for fan voting at Spike.com. « Because of the loyal readers of Hack/Slash, we’ve become the little book that could, » said creator and writer Tim Seeley. « We’re still here, and we’re giving more and more readers their monthly dose of twisted horror and laughs. »

As a Scream Awards nominee, Hack/Slash will be up for voting against five other nominees on Spike.com. The winner will be announced when the Scream awards are televised in October.

« All we need now is for every last Cassie and Vlad fan to run over to Spike’s website and tell ’em you want Hack/Slash to get a nice, bloody award! » said Seeley.

Hack/Slash’s nomination follows a huge year for the series that has seen the collected Hack/Slash Omnibus sell out, in addition to the first ever Hack/Slash webcomic on SuicideGirls.com that was published in Hack/Slash Annual #1. Seeley also joined director Todd Lincoln and screenwriter Justin Marks (Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li) at 2008’s San Diego Comic-Con to discuss Hack/Slash and its current development as a feature-length film at Rogue Pictures.

« 2008 has been an unprecedented year of success for Hack/Slash, and this nomination means a lot to us at Devil’s Due, » said DDP President Josh Blaylock. « Hack/Slash has been a DDP flagship since it began, and we are extremely proud to see it getting this level of recognition. »

Launched in 2004, Hack/Slash is the story of Cassie Hack, a survivor of an undead slasher attack, who teams with a burly loner named Vlad to take down villains straight out of Horror films. Now in its third year as an ongoing series, Hack/Slash has grown steadily in readership as the title has seen crossovers with the likes of Chucky, the Re-Animator, and Mark Kidwell’s Bump.
