En effet lorsque d\u00e9bute ce tome, le play-boy a confi\u00e9 sa c\u00e9l\u00e8bre armure rouge et or \u00e0 James Rhodes. Stark a perdu toute confiance en lui, des suites de son alcoolisme, dont il continue d\u2019ailleurs de combattre les effets. L\u2019homme est fragile, psychologiquement affaibli et persiste \u00e0 associer sa maladie \u00e0 son statut de super-h\u00e9ros. Il va pourtant devoir se transcender, pour remonter la pente et surtout pour faire face au retour en force d\u2019Obadiah Stane. Son nouvel ennemi a su profiter de sa faiblesse, et le principal rival de Stark dans les affaires a trouv\u00e9 le moyen de nuire \u00e0 son concurrent. Le pi\u00e8ge de grande envergure se referme tr\u00e8s progressivement sur l\u2019entourage du h\u00e9ros (James Rhodes, Bethany Cabe), avant de viser frontalement Iron Man. Stane poss\u00e8de apparemment, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 Iron Monger, une puissance de feu suffisante pour l\u2019an\u00e9antir. Ce duel explosif vient clore ce volume avec panache.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vengeurs rassemblement !<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pour reprendre pied, dans sa qu\u00eate pour triompher de son alcoolisme, Tony Stark peut compter sur d\u2019autres super-h\u00e9ros. Iron Man retrouve au fil des \u00e9pisodes son v\u00e9ritable alter-ego quand l\u2019homme parvient \u00e0 dompter ses d\u00e9mons gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide de nombreux autres personnages. Au rang desquels, les Avengers de la c\u00f4te ouest, James Rhodes, Tigra, Hawkeye, Hank Pym ou encore Oiseau Moqueur. Ceux-ci participent plus ou moins consciemment du retour de Tony dans l\u2019armure. Une distribution chorale, qui peut \u00eatre observ\u00e9e \u00e0 la fois en ce qui concerne les h\u00e9ros, mais qui caract\u00e9rise aussi les vilains. Cette observation montre combien le sc\u00e9nariste Denny O\u2019Neil maitrise son sujet. Ces \u00e9pisodes sont autant les h\u00e9ritiers des comics des ann\u00e9es soixante, comportant une menace \u00ab abordable \u00bb \u00e0 combattre par \u00e9pisode, que des \u00e9pisodes modernes au sens o\u00f9 l\u2019auteur installe progressivement, sur le moyen terme, des menaces d\u2019envergure plus complexes, d\u00e9voil\u00e9es au fur et \u00e0 mesure et qui font ind\u00e9niablement le v\u00e9ritable int\u00e9r\u00eat de ces r\u00e9cits.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00ab Je suis Iron Man ! \u00bb<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Des \u00e9pisodes d\u00e9terminants \u00e0 plus d\u2019un titre, puisqu\u2019ils sont de surcroit riches en r\u00e9v\u00e9lations. C\u2019est dans ces pages que Tony Stark d\u00e9cide finalement de r\u00e9v\u00e9ler qu\u2019il est \u00e0 l\u2019origine le porteur de l\u2019armure (ou plut\u00f4t qu\u2019il \u00e9tait, au moment o\u00f9 il choisi d\u2019en parler). Des \u00e9pisodes rythm\u00e9s, riches en action, dont l\u2019intensit\u00e9 augmente d\u2019ailleurs crescendo, pour culminer dans un combat final convaincant. Des intrigues fluides et une narration qui n\u2019est nullement perturb\u00e9e par les changements fr\u00e9quents de dessinateurs. Ceux-ci r\u00e9ussissent avec brio \u00e0 \u00e9pouser le style de la s\u00e9rie, pour des variations que le lecteur non familiaris\u00e9 avec cet univers aurait bien du mal \u00e0 mettre en \u00e9vidence.
