Bien au contraire Grant Morrison enclenche le compte \u00e0 rebours en esquissant un noir destin pour un des protagonistes, en nous lan\u00e7ant des sc\u00e8nes hallucin\u00e9es puis, presque pour calmer les choses (ou en tout cas nous ramener, en apparence, vers des ambiances connues) confronte le Joker \u00e0 Batman et Robin. Sauf que l&rsquo;alchimie des personnages est cette fois totalement diff\u00e9rente. D&rsquo;ailleurs Morrison va au del\u00e0, en nous montrant comment les interactions entre Batman, son entourage et Gotham varient plus qu&rsquo;on pourrait le croire selon qui se place derri\u00e8re le masque. Croustillante la rencontre Joker\/Robin. Sympathique l&rsquo;entrevue Gordon\/Batman. Et cors\u00e9e, la remont\u00e9e en puissance de visages (ou de masques) connus, qui montrent qu&rsquo;un cycle est en train de se refermer, comme un pi\u00e8ge, sur les principaux personnages.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dans la combinaison de ce num\u00e9ro, le r\u00f4le de l&rsquo;excellent Frazer Irving n&rsquo;est pas \u00e0 sous-estimer. Dans des ambiances beaucoup plus color\u00e9es que ses pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes oeuvres chez DC, Irving instaure une ambiance et m\u00eame&#8230; une certaine musicalit\u00e9 aux sc\u00e8nes. Morrison titre son arc \u00ab\u00a0Batman &amp; Robin Must Die\u00a0\u00bb ? Irving r\u00e9torque en planquant un des deux chanteurs de Prodigy (les initi\u00e9s du dernier album du groupe comprendront le pourquoi du comment) parmi les sbires du Black Glove. Son Joker est \u00e0 la fois raccord avec la version classique du personnage, m\u00e9nage les modifications apport\u00e9es avant Batman R.I.P. et int\u00e8gre m\u00eame des allusions appuy\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;acteur Conrad Veidt, un des mod\u00e8les du personnage. Bref, ce n&rsquo;est pas la premi\u00e8re collaboration du sc\u00e9nariste et du dessinateur.
