\u00ab\u00a0RED SONJA: THE FROST GIANT’S CURSE is a full-length, stand-alone epic which finds the She-Devil trapped in a violent Viking port city cursed by a perpetual Winter,\u00a0\u00bb states writer Kevin McCarthy.\u00a0 \u00ab\u00a0Unable to escape by sea or land, Red Sonja uses her wits and her sword to slash a bloody path through legends and lies to discover the tragic truth behind a tormented town, and a giant monster’s curse that, much like our red-haired heroine, cuts both ways.\u00a0 This story was a thrill for me to write, and in case I never got another chance, I put everything I’ve ever wanted to see the She-Devil do into my little Sonja saga.\u00a0 So it’s got a brutal bar fight, an old woman whose warnings of danger go unheeded, a malicious magic curse, blood on the snow, tragic Viking heroes, and a freakin’ FROST GIANT.\u00a0 An earlier draft featured cameos by the Green Hornet, Vampirella, Robocop, and President Barack Obama, but Nick Barrucci nixed that because Red Sonja #50 had already exceeded critical levels of awesomeness! Maybe next time . . .\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0I had a fantastic time working on this story with Raven Gregory,\u00a0\u00bb adds artist Joyce Chin.\u00a0 \u00ab\u00a0It was a blast to meld together the Red Riding Hood myth, werewolf legends, and Red Sonja, such an iconic hero, into such a fast paced action packed story!\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n
